Job Title: Specialist, Field Engineer
L3Harris is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST) program in Australia, with travel up to 40% annually. Responsibilities include maintenance, site visits, schedule monitoring, compliance, reporting, troubleshooting, and supporting overall program objectives, including sustainment Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM), Emergency/Urgent Depot Level Maintenance (EDLM/UDLM), and Engineering Assistance (EA)/Technical Assistance (TA) efforts in accordance with contract requirements.
Troubleshoot and repair complex field issues, including depotlevel maintenance (PDM, EDLM, UDLM).
Perform fault isolation across integrated subsystems including telescope control systems (TCS), dome control systems (DCS), environmental monitoring systems (EMS), facility control group (FCG), and optical/mechanical assemblies.
Provide technical assistance to onsite personnel and coordinate with engineering, logistics, and program teams to resolve issues.
Lead or support projects, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and provide guidance or training to team members.
Ensure compliance with safety, configuration control, export rules, and all operational procedures.
Active SECRET clearance.
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Able to travel up to 40% of the time (Travel to Australia).
Must be able to obtain a US Passport.
Must be able to obtain a 403B VISA for Australia.

~ Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, engineering orders, and related documentation.
Skilled in system troubleshooting using technical data, logs, test equipment, and data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB).
Experience supporting Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and integrated system diagnostics.
Strong communication skills and ability to work across government, contractor, and engineering organizations.
willing to travel worldwide on short notice.
