Job Description
The RS Cabinet Maker II will fabricate aircraft furniture, cabinets, and wood-surfaced subassemblies using blueprints, aircraft specifications, and engineering drawings. The position works under general supervision and requires strong attention to safety, quality, detail, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate aircraft furniture, cabinets, and wood-surfaced subassemblies.
Read and interpret blueprints, aircraft specifications, and engineering drawings.
Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells.
Install drawer slides, hinges, latches, and other hardware.
Apply laminates, veneers, cap strips, and other exterior surface materials.
Operate stationary and hand-held power tools.
Disassemble and modify furniture as required.
Follow all safety, 5S, housekeeping, and PPE requirements.
Use material tracking systems to create parts demand, track squawks, and complete work sign-offs.
Support process improvements focused on safety, cost, cycle time, and productivity.
Work effectively with lead and higher-skilled technicians.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Required
Minimum 2 years of cabinetmaking experience
Required
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Required
Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking processes, products, and tools.
Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
Experience using hand and stationary power tools.
Computer literacy required.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small or restricted areas.
Must be willing to work the assigned weekend day shift.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace industry experience.
Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications.
Experience fabricating aircraft interiors, furniture, cabinets, or similar components.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process-improvement techniques.
