PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) | $60 - $70 | Culver City, CA | Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Flexible Work. Marina Pointe Healthcare & Subacute is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehab team. You’ll help residents improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function, empowering them to regain independence and quality of life.

Facilitates the treatment of speech and language disorders following an assessment process that evaluates patient histories and identifies the causes for speech defects, devising effective therapy plans in association with other healthcare professionals, tracking patient progress, maintaining comprehensive treatment records, and adjusting treatment plans as needed in accordance with all company policies and local, state and federal laws.

Current or pending state license in Speech and Language Pathology

Compassionately assess, diagnoses and treats speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders

Continually reviews treatment results and adjusts treatment programs to ensure optimal results for patients/residents

Organizes, updates and concisely documents patient charts, daily progress notes, summaries, monthly reports and other required paperwork as needed

Follows all facility safety and other policies keeping updated on regulations governing the industry and profession

Participates in inter-departmental meetings and facility operations

Communicates patient status and needs to those involved with care maintaining confidentially when required in accordance with HIPAA

Develops plans and provides treatments consistent with benefit and reimbursement levels for best functional outcome following physician orders

Educates staff, other health care professionals and third-party payer on the benefits and functional outcomes of therapy interventions

Provides in-service trainings or other educational presentations to company, as needed - updating policies and procedures as they relate to the department

Communicates with assistants and rehabilitation technicians providing clear directives concerning patients and their treatment plans prior to initiation of patient care
