Registered Nurse - Emergency Care - Evening Shift

Position Overview Skilled Nursing - OR Preop/PACU - even shift (10:00-22:30 pm, 3 shifts per week plus call), located in Deer Valley, Phoenix, AZ.
Key Responsibilities Use ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics as guiding principles.
Collect and record patients’ medical history, symptoms, diagnostic results; operate medical equipment.
Administer treatments, medications, IV lines (fluid, medication, blood, blood products), therapies, and observe patients; record observations.
Develop and update patient care plans, including medication management, IV line care, and education for patients and families.
Provide instruction to patients/families on illness management, post‑treatment care, diet, exercise, and medication self‑administration.
Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides.
Precept new hire staff and students; support staff competency completion.
Continue to enhance knowledge in nursing management and care; seek evidence‑based improvements.
Maintain professional standards, ethics, and cultural competence.
Essential Functions Collect health data systematically, prioritizing immediate patient needs.
Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses and develop family‑centered, evidence‑based care plans.
Initiate and implement interventions including emergency and resuscitative measures per standing orders.
Deliver nursing care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs.
Document interventions, observations, and therapeutic measures in a retrievable form.
Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and revise care plans as needed.
Continuously evaluate practice quality and effectiveness; incorporate ethical principles and evidence‑based changes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and foster professional development through preceptor/mentor roles.
Education Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing. All staff with direct responsibility for care of stroke patients must refer to a separate stroke‑specific education addendum.
Experience & Qualifications Minimum two years experience in PACU (open to IVU or ED experience).
At least 10 months in a med‑surg or acute specialty setting.
Minimum one year RN experience for all float positions.
Registered Nurse License in the State of Arizona (or applicable Compact).
Licenses & Certifications BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
Unit‑specific certification required by specialty area.
National certification for unit‑specific patient population (upon hire).
Preference for Registered Nurse who has completed a BSN within 60 months or has five or more years RN experience.
