Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for RNs in a Multi-Care Unit!
Job Description:

• Shift: 12H Nights every other weekend
• Contract Length: 91 Weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit Type: Multi Care Unit with combined acuity
• Total Beds: 10

Patient Acuity and Ratios:

- ICU: 1:2

- PCU: 1:4

- MST: 1:5-6 (or 1:3 if no nurse aid available)
Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients:

• Medical ICU: Sepsis, suicide attempts, drug/alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, COVID, DKA, blood pressure or heart rate abnormalities, post-operative complications
• PCU: Non-titratable infusions to maintain heart rate or blood pressure

Experience and Skills Required:

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
• Will consider 1 year of ICU + 1 year of PCU/Med Surge from larger facilities with strong skills
• Must be proficient in titrating drips (sedation, vasopressors, insulin)
• RN must perform 12-lead EKG and monitor ICU patients

Team Dynamics:

• Charge RN manages 50 inpatient beds, including MST, PEDS, and Acuity Adaptable MCU for ICU/PCU/MST
• Nurse Aids support with 10-15 patients; RN takes on 3 patients for primary care if no NA available
• RT will support with equipment: vents, BiPAP, CPAP

Floating Requirements:

• Float to EC MST & Pediatric units to care for adult MST, and to West Campus for ICU & PCU to maintain competency
• Two-hour notice required before floating

Scheduling Details:

• Shifts: 0700/1900, 1930/0730
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotation for fair distribution of holidays
• Call/Standby: Staff rotates during low census

Scrub Color/Dress Code:
- Any scrub color except camouflage
Orientation:
- Attend hospital and unit-specific orientation
Mandatory Certifications:

- BLS

- ACLS
