Weekend Clinic Nurse

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) at Franciscan Women’s Health Associates Clinic in Tacoma, WA, you will play a central role in delivering compassionate and high‑quality patient care. You will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct essential risk assessments, provide preventative health education and coordinate care for diverse patient populations.

Each day you will work with a team of RNs to support triage, new patient visits and NSTs. The role requires critical thinking and strong communication skills, and you will work in a setting that values adaptability and patient‑centered care.

Responsibilities

Deliver professional nursing care to clinic patients, performing diagnostic testing and related clinical procedures in accordance with established protocols.

Independently triage patients and manage urgent or emergent situations per standing orders and protocols; coordinate escalation as needed.

Perform a variety of assessment and screening tests, including EKG, spirometry, vision/hearing screens, peak flow, color blindness, and more.

Make independent wound assessments and perform complex wound care and dressing changes, including placement or removal of wound vacs; remove sutures or staples after provider assessment.

Insert or remove tubes, drains, urinary catheters, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC), and apply splints or braces.

Instruct patients on sample collection and other tests; ensure understanding of follow‑up and referral information.

Disseminate lab results, place prescription calls to pharmacies, and return practitioner messages.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Registered Nurse license in Washington state.

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

Preferred

At least one year of RN experience in a clinic setting, or at least two years in acute‑care RN roles.
