Cook- Night/Weekend Shift

This is a Flexible position guaranteed 0 hours per week but can be scheduled for up to 40 hours per week.
This position may be subject to nights, days, weekends, Holidays, and on-call work.
Help

Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading; sets up and replenishes salad bar; portions foods for distribution and meal service, and covers, dates and stores leftovers according to established procedures. Washes and cleans kitchen equipment.
Mix ingredients according to written recipes that produce quality products, minimize preparation time, and avoid food material waste.
Required to operate cash register in absence of Cashier-Checker. May be required to perform simple bar functions such as pulling draft beer and mixing simple drinks on occasion.
Occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance

This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete a Food Handler's Training.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., religious; spiritual; community; student; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Must have experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity.
Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done is required.
Citizens and Non-U.Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement..
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Direct deposit is required.
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
