Job Purpose:In this role, the Senior Systems Engineer work within a team responsible for product development of innovative data storage and server product designs in Colorado Springs and an offshore development partner. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading both Colorado-based and offshore development teams for developing server and storage products. The Senior Systems Engineer will work cross-functionally to deliver next generation products for both internally specified products and customer specified products.Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:Lead collaborative teams to develop leading edge server and storage productsProvide technical and program leadership to offshore design teams to develop server and storage productsProvide technical and program leadership to local design teams to develop server and storage productsProvide cross-functional technical guidance and mentorship to engineers throughout the organization.Contribute to Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) for server and storage productsProvide technical support to RFQs and Business Development activities as requiredLimited hands on testing and troubleshooting of server and storage products as requiredEducation and Experience:BS degree in engineering, computer science or related field8 years of relevant industry experience with at least 5 years working with offshore development teamsWorking understanding of electro-mechanical system designWorking knowledge of design tradeoffs between various disciplines (example; Mechanical packaging versus Electrical layout requirements)Working understanding of signal integrity concepts and trade-offsWorking knowledge of mechanical design concepts (sheet metal and plastics)Working knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processWorking knowledge of enclosure level factory assembly and integration processAbility to see and understand overall system requirements to evaluate tradeoffs and deliver a quality productAbility to develop and track development schedules Preferred Education and Experience:Experience leading off-shore teams in India and Asia (Taiwan/China)Working knowledge of various OS (Linux, Windows, Unix etc.)Working understanding of SES, BMC, BIOS and Networking protocolsWorking knowledge of PCIe add in card specificationsWorking understanding of Server and Storage product designWorking knowledge of SAS, SATA and NVMe HDD/SSD technologyWorking knowledge of power, packaging and cooling trade-offs for high density storage and high power CPU enclosure designWorking knowledge of x86 CPU complex designPMP certificationSanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer Salary Range (annual): $140,000 - $164,000Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
