Medical AssistantPosition Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast‑paced clinical environment. This role involves direct patient care, basic laboratory procedures, patient education, EHR documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate is patient‑focused, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple clinic locations in the Knoxville, Morristown, and Athens areas. Clinic schedules are provided in advance.
Perform basic laboratory testing and phlebotomy as needed.
Document patient information and clinical activities in the electronic health record (EHR).
Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, follow‑up care, and preventive health measures.
Assist with medical coding and related documentation.
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.
Provide compassionate, patient‑centered care.
Float between Knoxville, Morristown, and Athens clinic locations as scheduled.
Required Qualifications Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, or equivalent) or eligibility to obtain certification.
Experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.
Phlebotomy experience.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Ability to work effectively in a team‑based healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
Experience in emergency medicine, geriatrics, or specialty care settings.
Knowledge of medical coding practices.
Work Environment & Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Primary clinic location in the Knoxville area.
Travel between Knoxville, Morristown, and Athens clinic locations may be required; Fast‑paced, patient‑focused clinical setting utilizing EHR systems, laboratory equipment, and standard clinical tools.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
