Details Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) Floats across Med/Surg and Telemetry units Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Epic charting system used Requirements Active LA RN license or Compact license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted) Minimum 2 years of experience required Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience required BLS certification required ACLS and CPI certifications preferred Epic charting experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care preferred Experience with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients preferred Medication administration experience with Heparin, Insulin, and PCA Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia management, telemetry remote monitoring, and Rapid Response/Code team utilization preferred Experience monitoring chemotherapy patients and post-angiogram cardiovascular care preferred Experience managing surgical drains preferred At least two recent manager references required Additional Information Provides nursing care across multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units as part of a float pool team Strict maximum of 5 days RTO Must reside outside a 75-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate Previous permanent employees of the health system must have a 1-year separation before being eligible for travel assignments Any license hits must be disclosed at time of consideration along with a personal statement Pre-start educational modules required, which vary by specialty and are non-billable American Traveler Job ID P- .
