Full Time CustodianPosition: Full Time CustodianLocation: John Glenn Middle SchoolWork Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pmStart Date: ASAPPay Rate: $22.70 /HourBenefits: Benefits available per the Local 70 labor agreementRequired Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years of ageSolid work history and trainableHigh School Diploma or GEDMaintains good hygiene with neat and clean appearanceGood attendanceWork collaboratively with a high level of integrity in a diverse environment with people of all ages including studentsAbility to accept work directionAbility to work alone or as a team with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate and follow written and oral communicationAbility to perform light maintenanceDemonstrated positive attitude towards people with whom one works, ability to work cooperatively and willingness to accept instructions and trainingSatisfactory past performance record, indicating the knowledge of district maintenance methods and proceduresBasic working knowledge of personal computers and office machineryWillingness to continuously learn and be open to feedback to improve individual performanceResponsibilities:Sweeps, dusts, arranges furniture, empties trash, recycle bins, pencil sharpeners, and cleans chalkboards / whiteboardsWashes walls, doors, woodwork, windows / glass, and cleans / polishes metal surfacesCleans and maintains hard and soft surface floors to include but not limited to: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, sealing, extracting, and strippingCleans, sanitizes, and deodorizes restrooms, locker rooms, health service areas, and drinking fountainsHaul and remove trash / recyclingRemoves / reports acts of graffiti and vandalismPerforms minor repair maintenanceWilling to operate heating, A/C, ventilation, electrical and mechanical systemsTake necessary action to prevent the occurrence of emergencies by repairing, or reporting broken windows, doors and locks, and by reporting unsafe conditionsAssists in the maintenance of lawns, landscaping, concrete and blacktop surfaces and playgrounds, including pedestrian walkways snow and ice removalAssists with set ups, tear downs, and clean ups of all school activities such as sporting events, concerts and other meetings or special eventsOperates security systems and secures building at the conclusion of shift along with ensure building is secure by locking windows and doorsTreat all users of buildings in a polite and courteous mannerMove furniture and other heavy moving and liftingAssists with putting away deliveriesEstimate needs and requisitions for supplies and equipmentMust maintain safe maintenance practices and adhere to safety requirementsPerforms other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:Ability to pass background check and physicalGood physical health including the ability to lift up to 50 poundsConstant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, standing and walkingRepetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingersFrequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting and stoopingOccasional climbing and crawlingStanding for long periods of time as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbingNo issues working with cleaning chemical's or in dusty environmentsISD 622 Universal Competencies:AccountabilityIntegrityExcellenceAchievementCourageTeamworkRespectAdditional Comments:If you have any questions or would like to follow up on your application, please contact Matthew Babou at View phone number on click.appcast.io.
