Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Nursing Team!

• Shift: 12-Hour Nights
• Schedule: Weekends as scheduled

- Unit Details:

• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Must submit a copy of unexpired driver's license
• Licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission

- Patient Care:
- 48 beds on the unit
- Nurse to Patient Ratios:

• 1:5-7 on days
• 1:6-8 on nights

- Required Certifications:

- BLS

• RN License
• PCT class or CNA accepted

- Common Diagnoses/Patient Types:
- Pneumonia

- UTI

- AMS

• GI bleed
• Alcohol withdrawal
• Falls/weakness

- Experience Required:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• First-time travelers are welcome!

- Responsibilities:

• Titrate drips (with some exceptions)
• Common titratable & set rate drips: heparin, bumex, lasix

- Charge Nurse Presence:

• 2 charge nurses on day shift with patient assignments
• At night, if only 1 charge nurse is scheduled, they do not take an assignment

- Patient Care Techs:
- 1:10-12 ratio on average, may vary
- Duties include:

• Vitals
• BGM's
• EKG's
• Monitoring
• Bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, and positioning

- Respiratory Therapy Equipment:
- RNs troubleshoot but RT administers treatments
- Telemetry and Monitoring:
- Monitor tech located on level 5, RNs not required to read strips
- Scheduling Information:

• RNs: 7-7, CNAs: 6-6
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling
• Schedules made by management with flexibility required

- Weekend Requirement:
- Every other weekend participation
- Floating Requirements:
- May float to MS, MS-Tele, or IMC for lower acuity patients
- Dress Code:

• RN: Navy Blue
• PCT: Ceil Blue

- Orientation:

• 1 day of unit-specific orientation
• 1 day with a preceptor

Cancellation Policy:

• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment
• 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

Charting System:

- EPIC
