SC Steel LLC was established January 2, 2018, as a subsidiary of FabSouth and acquired the assets of SMI-Owen Steel Company, Inc. on April 1, 2018. SMI-Owen Steel Company had owned the business since 1994 when they acquired it from South Carolina Steel Company. The Upstate South Carolina facility has been in operation at this location since 1952.

Coordinate with Project Management and Project Engineering to provide economical and efficient connection designs
Provide solutions to field and shop errors to facilitate fabrication and installation

Kowledge of AISC Codes, AISC Siesmic Design Manual, AWS Welding Code
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MathCAD, Bluebeam
Education/Training/Experience
S. in Civil/Structural Engineering from a 4 year accredited college and EIT certification

Additional Preferred Training/Knowledge
Experience with structural analysis programs (i.e., MATLAB)
Knowledge of structural steel detailing software (Tekla, SDS/2)
Understanding of structural steel fabrication and installation processes
Knowledge of structural steel and building design including ASCE 7 & IBC
