Buyer - Manufacturing and Supply Chain Purchasing

As a Procurement Specialist, you will help ensure our operations run smoothly by sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing the goods and services that drive our manufacturing and project success.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy and execution-partnering closely with engineering, production, supply chain, and project teams to translate business needs into effective procurement solutions. At Hitachi Energy, procurement is more than buying-it's about strengthening partnerships, managing risk, enabling innovation, and continuously improving how we work. Procure direct materials, components, and manufacturing services to support production plans and MRP signals.

Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, contracts, and purchase orders in accordance with production schedules and BOMs.

Partner with production planning, engineering, and quality teams to resolve supply, quality, or delivery issues.

Manage supplier performance related to ontime delivery (OTD), quality, and responsiveness.

Analyze purchasing, inventory, and price variance data to identify cost, risk, and efficiency opportunities.

Support inventory optimization, safety stock management, and lead time reduction initiatives.

Participate in supplier development and dualsourcing strategies to reduce manufacturing risk.

Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, ethical standards, and external regulatory requirements.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.

Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, including data analysis capabilities.

Experience with procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, Oracle ERP, or similar.
