Key Responsibilities of the SMH Level 1 RN Psych- Unit 3900
Conduct intake assessments through patient and relative interviews
Plan and provide nursing care for patients
Make nursing diagnoses and recommend treatment options
Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff for treatment planning
Administer and monitor reactions to medications
Arrange further medical attention as necessary
Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and treatments
Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients
Test for vital signs of pain and ensure treatment
Document patient information on medical charts
Maintain patient confidentiality
Maintain accurate records of treatments, immunizations, and lab results
Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and completing progress notes
Provide high-quality service to patients and the public
