Schedule: 3 Days/Week | 11.5 Hours/Day | 34.5 Hours/Week

Pay Rate

Local: $62 - $65/hour

Traveler: $62 - $65/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse to provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients while managing medications, IV therapy, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and patient education.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute-care hospital; most recent experience within the past year

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution

Current New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification

AHA BLS certification

Physical assessment skills

Medication administration experience

Wound care and infection-control experience

IV therapy experience

Post-operative care experience

Patient education skills

Telemetry monitoring experience

English proficiency – read, write, and speak

Preferred Qualifications

EPIC EMR experience

AHA ACLS certification for Queens positions

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans

Provide individualized bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients

Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications

Change dressings, insert catheters, and initiate IVs

Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment

Monitor vital signs and report adverse reactions

Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning

Educate patients and families regarding procedures and post-surgical care

Maintain accurate patient files, charts, and health records

Follow nursing standards, best practices, and protocols
