Mortgage Originator, Full Time

The Home Mortgage division is focused on the fast-paced and highly-regulated home mortgage market. This position is responsible for underwriting residential mortgage loans to ensure compliance with TruStone and investor standards, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA and VA. The underwriter focuses on the credit and collateral evaluation to insure the member's ability to repay the loan.

Availability to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm at our Burnsville or Plymouth Office locations; Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Finance or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• 2+ years of experience in the mortgage lending field.
• 2+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, preferred.
• Familiarity with review and understanding of complex income tax documentation.
• Experience in computer systems including MS Office.
• Knowledge of mortgage product and underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements and market trends influencing lending at TruStone Financial. Proficiency and ability to correctly apply underwriting standards established by GSEs and other large institutional purchasers of loans originated by TruStone Home Mortgage.
• Superior internal and external customer service skills, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• A high level of business acumen with the ability to develop strong relationships with internal customers which includes Originators, Processors and industry partners.
• Competency in basic math skills such as calculating interest and mortgage payments.
• Ability to work with and balance data in a variety of loan systems.
• Compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all its provisions.
