Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking a Post-Crisis Unit (PCU) registered nurse for an assignment at a Magnet level hospital located in Anchorage, Alaska. The position involves providing specialized nursing care on a stepdown unit from the intensive care setting, serving a diverse patient population including cardiac, respiratory, neuro, renal, and surgical cases. The role utilizes a co-care/virtual nursing model with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Job Details:
Schedule: 3x12 day shifts per week, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska registered nurse license in hand, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. At least 1 year of nursing experience in a similar setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac telemetry, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and use of Epic charting system.
Float: Float rotation to lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical units may be required.
Additional Information: Willingness to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). Coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend based on staffing needs. Candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility with a valid license in hand for auto-offer. RTO requests are considered on an individual basis. This facility features a co-care/virtual nursing model with a bedside RN, virtual RN, and CNA per patient, with patient ratios of 1:4 for RNs and 1:6 for CNAs. The unit handles a variety of complex cases, including cardiac, respiratory, neuro, renal, and surgical patients, utilizing advanced monitoring and procedures.
