RN - Hospital Day Shift

Enter Job Description... We are seeking an experienced and dedicated PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit team at Summa Health Akron Campus. The ideal candidate will have strong post-operative recovery experience, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment.

This is a day-shift assignment with no weekends and no on-call requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to post-anesthesia and post-operative patients

Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, including airway management, pain control, and vital sign monitoring

Assess and respond to changes in patient condition promptly and accurately

Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols

Perform phlebotomy procedures as required

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR

Educate patients and families regarding post-operative recovery and discharge instructions

Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 2+ years of recent PACU RN experience

Minimum 1+ year of recent phlebotomy experience

Recent Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months

Epic experience must be clearly listed on the candidate s resume

Graduate of an accredited nursing program approved by ACEN or CCNE

Current BLS certification

Current ACLS certification

Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills

Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 6:00 AM 2:30 PM

No weekends

No on-call requirements

Maximum 7 days of RTO (Requests exceeding 7 days will be automatically rejected)
