Set up machines in a timely and safe manner and operate conventional, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate primarily metal parts by performing the following duties.
on machining operations of moderate complexity.
Read and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls
Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and/or adjusts machine controls
Strong mechanical aptitude recommended.
Communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Walk and stand CONTINUOUSLY over the course of the 8 to 10 hour work shift.
Lift weights up to 20 pounds from floor to chest CONTINUOUSLY, which includes the various tools utilized in the process of performing the usual work duties.
Visual ability to read and interpret shop drawings as well as operate machinery.
