Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems, data analysis and customer interface, quality practices and continuous improvement activities.

Ensuring all tasks are performed in a safe manner and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Providing technical expertise to Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Product Development, and Quality to support and improve plant performance.

Planning, executing and documenting trial results for quality and process improvement.

Responsible for the daily monitoring and troubleshooting for quality and production.

Overseeing internal, customer, and third-party audit from preparation through corrective action.

Developing and leading assigned projects from start to completion.

Developing and leading improvement programs around quality KPIs (defects per unit, TCOQ, etc).

Regularly interfacing with customers and vendors.

Leading investigations into customer complaints and developing corrective action.

Serving as a resource on plant technologies, control systems, and raw materials. Initiating and leading with implementation of process control improvements using DMAIC planning process.

Initiating plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of processes and equipment.

Leading process changes and maintaining FMEA's for all assets.

Ensuring consistency of processes across all assets and shifts.

Tracking improvement through use of Hoshin, Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Ensuring maintenance of asset SOP's and work instructions.

Supporting the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades.

May lead or participate in regional or global projects.

BS degree in Quality Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Certified Quality Engineer a plus. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role; experience in paper or hygiene products is a plus.
• Familiarity with ISO standards, GMP, and microbiological testing methods preferred
• Ability to travel required (10-30%).
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Paper, hygiene, or nonwovens experience desired.
