Join Our Team: Night Shift Mental Health Nurse Wanted!
Job Description:
- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- Schedule: Weekends Only (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
- Target Ratios: 1:7
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36-48 hours available
Required Skills and Certifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Traveler experience required; first-time travelers welcomed
- Certifications: BLS, MOAB
Key Skills Include:
- Inpatient Mental Health Care
- Management of locked units
- Experience with various mental health diagnoses:
- Substance use/chemical dependency
- Anxiety disorders
- Bipolar disorder
- Schizophrenia-spectrum disorders
- Self-injurious behavior
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Medication administration (antianxiety, antidepressants, antipsychotics)
- Physical hold protocols and seclusion procedures
- Blood glucose monitoring and lab values interpretation
Unit Details:
- Split between two floors (2nd and 9th)
- Rotational team members working in various acuity areas
- Supportive structure with management on-site and virtual clinical nursing support available 24/7
- Daily census of approximately 35 patients
- Interdisciplinary support available
Special Equipment Used:
- ObservSmart for patient monitoring
- Personal panic alarms
Orientation and Onboarding:
- 32-hour hospital orientation required for travelers
- Must be available for orientation classes daily
Call Requirements:
- No call requirement
