Phlebotomist (temporary/hourly)

LabCorp seeks a Phlebotomist in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

The Phlebotomist will work in a client office and provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and be the face of the company. The role offers opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Job Responsibilities

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.

Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information

Process billing information and collect payments as needed

Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

Maintain patient and specimen information logs

Provide superior customer service to all patients

Carry out administrative and clerical duties as necessary

Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab setting

Additional Job Standards

Phlebotomy certification or completed training from an accredited agency if work experience is lacking

Track record of exceptional customer service

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Comfortable working with minimal supervision

Reliable transportationFlexibility to work overtime as needed

Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test

Benefits & Compensation

Pay Range: $17.75 – $23.00 per hour. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which provides a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Employees scheduled 20 or more hours per week receive comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO/FTO, tuition reimbursement, and employee stock purchase plan. Employees scheduled fewer than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are only eligible for the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all benefits except PTO/FTO.
