Description:
This position requires a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.
Charge Nurse experience is essential for this role.
The nurse can expect to regularly work in the Charge Nurse position.
An active Registered Nurse license is required.
The assignment length is 13 weeks.
The shift will be nights, working 3 or 4 shifts of 12 hours each.
First-time travelers are accepted for this role.
Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, and NRP.
Experience with charge nurse duties is preferred, but training will be provided.
There is no on-call requirement for this position.
Weekends will be required, working every other weekend.
Travelers may float to similar units if needed.
A block schedule accommodation is not available.
Local candidates are not accepted; the candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
Time off requests will be considered on an individual basis upon offer.
Guaranteed hours are 60 hours per 2 weeks, and the traveler may be called off for one 12-hour shift every two weeks.
The unit provides care for a high-risk labor and delivery population.
The average daily deliveries are around seven but can accommodate up to 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum.
The unit features OB triage rooms, labor delivery rooms, operating rooms, and post-anesthesia care rooms.
The nurses will provide care in accordance with established protocols and assist in various obstetric procedures.
Special equipment and resources are available to support patient care effectively.
The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including specialists in various fields.
Willingness to work two of the three major holidays is required.
