Hospital ICU Registered Nurse - RN - PRN Day Shift

The RN identifies patient needs and prioritizes care based on continuous assessment, executes therapeutic physician orders and therapeutic nursing interventions. The RN evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.
Graduate of accredited school of nursing required. Current State of Alabama Nursing License required.Healthcare Provider BLS is required within the orientation period.
Experience preferred, new graduate accepted.
Ability to communicate in English with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
Absolute integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of surgical procedures.
Initiates assessment based on the patient's presenting problems or needs and the physician's medical diagnosis within the framework of Huntsville Hospital Policy.
Completes on-going assessments and updates nursing plan of care.
Performs therapeutic interventions consistent with the nature of the unit.

Therapeutic nursing interventions with special attention to patient education and discharge planning.
Evaluates and documents the impact of nursing interventions and outcomes based on standards of care and practice.

Functions as RN Circulator during surgical procedures.
Demonstrates accountability by staying informed of current changes in practice, new equipment, and quality initiatives.
Ability to function as scrub/technician during surgical procedures.
Ability to function as second assistant per Huntsville Hospital Policy and Procedure.
