The M-290/M-140 Design and Analysis group is seeking a mechanical engineer to work on designs supporting spent fuel shipping containers. The successful candidate would perform mechanical system and hardware design, finite element analysis, as well as supporting the fleet of spent fuel containers. The candidate would work with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, project managers, and shipyards to support the Naval Reactors program.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Experience using 3D CAD software packages to evaluate suitability of a design based on functional requirements, design codes, and constraints (budget, physical space available, interferences, etc).
