Our mission to the community is to be a resource and leader.Our vision is to improve the health & well-being of each patient, their families, and the greater community.The Dental Hygienist will clean teeth and examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease such as gingivitis, The position also educates patients on oral hygiene and provides preventive care such as taking x-rays and applying fluoride or sealants.Responsibilities:Provides routine hygiene treatment for children and adults.Performs preventive dentistry procedures to include dental prophylaxis, oral screenings, and topical fluoride applications.Help patients develop and maintain good oral health by explaining the relationship between diet and oral health. take and develop dental x-rays; New Bedford Community Health values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply. EOE/AA/M/F/D/VQualificationsEducation : Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene Program.Experience: 1-2 years' experience as a dental hygienist; Current Massachusetts state license to practice as a dental hygienist.Software/Hardware: Dentrix preferredKnowledge of the modern principles, practices and techniques of dental hygiene.Knowledge of dental hygiene in instruction of patients; use of equipment and instruments in examining and cleaning teeth.Ability to give group and individual instructions in dental hygiene; establish and maintain good relationships with lay and professional personnel and gain their cooperation in the achievement of dental health objectives; Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.
