HR Generalist/Employee Relations/Payroll

The Human Resources Generalist/Executive Assistant reports to the Administrative Officer and the Board of Directors.

Job Overview The Human Resources Generalist/Executive Assistant is responsible for overseeing essential functions that drive employee satisfaction, productivity, and organizational success. The role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including recruitment and talent acquisition, training and development, performance management, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance.

Requirements Human Resources (80%) Manage the talent acquisition process which includes screening job applicants and arranging interviews.

Manage the onboarding process, schedule all pre-hire appointments, and coordinate orientation.

Manage payroll including payroll documentation and timecard validation.

Conduct employee relations investigations, communicate findings and make recommendations

Manage employee benefits program, including health, dental, vision, and supplementals.

Submit and track workers’ compensation claims and FMLA requests.

Manage performance evaluations.

Assist in developing and updating policies, procedures, and employee handbook.

Ensure agency maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Analyze HR metrics including recruitment/retention, workplace injury, and disciplinary action trends.

Draft correspondence, create meeting minutes and organize presentations.

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role.

Preferred Qualifications Prior experience or familiarity with healthcare/EMS field.
