ECMO Specialist RN

The ECMO Specialist RN is responsible for overseeing and managing care for patients on ECMO. This role requires expertise in circuit management and critical care. Experience in a cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) or intensive care unit (ICU) is preferred. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 2:1. Familiarity with the Epic charting system is necessary. The ICU setting is fast-paced and requires adaptable skills. Candidates must be capable of monitoring for complications and managing emergencies effectively. The role includes care for patients with acute and chronic health issues. Candidates should be prepared to float to other critical care areas if necessary. Specific training related to ECMO is mandatory. Team collaboration with other healthcare professionals is vital in this role. The ECMO Specialist RN must adhere to infection prevention protocols. Medical, dental & vision insurance
