Registered Nurse - Flex Nursing Unit

Role: Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Assess patient conditions, develop and document care plans, and evaluate outcomes.

Welcome patients, promote a safe environment, and supervise care staff.

Coordinate with departments for admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring thorough communication.

Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients' families to analyze physical, psychosocial, and educational needs, contributing to interdisciplinary planning.

Assist in achieving nursing department goals, participate in quality improvement, and evaluate staff and programs.

Supervise direct patient care, manage resources within budget, and serve as a role model for staff and students.

Attend training, explain policies, and engage with community groups on mental health topics.

Qualifications

Nursing degree and current Illinois RN license.

CPR certification; CPI certification within 90 days of hire.

Preferred: psychiatric experience, knowledge of abnormal psychology, and therapeutic systems management.

Skills: Confidentiality, communication, teamwork, and clinical competence.
