Position: Registered Nurse - Step-Down ICU and ICU Units
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Step-Down ICU and ICU units. The ideal candidate will possess strong ICU experience from a Level 1 Trauma Center and be willing to float to the Step-Down ICU as needed.
Qualifications
Current Illinois RN License
Certification in CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to accepted nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
Documents patient care in accordance with established standards.
Develops, initiates, and executes individualized patient care plans as prescribed by the physician and in alignment with hospital policy.
Involves patient and family in the instruction process.
Participates in department or unit performance improvement initiatives, which may include shared governance.
Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
Employs critical thinking skills to enhance patient safety and experience, escalating issues to the appropriate chain of command as necessary.
