Responsibilities: Essential functions include acting as sonography section leader, working closely with Radiologist, Perinatologist and/or Cardiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams, delivering appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions, complying with all state and federal regulations, adhering to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards, assessing the patient's physical condition and age specific needs, performing proper patient identification, acquiring patient's clinical history, and assuring that the information is accurately documented, positioning patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulating technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation, assessing diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated, comprehending and complying with Quality Control standards and participating in all Quality Control tasks, administering medical aid as required for any emergency, assisting in supervision of student sonographers and training of new sonographers, applying appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases, utilizing all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately, ensuring safety of all customers, directing and assist with daily workflow of the imaging team to include patient flow, supply ordering, staff assignments, and resolution of customer service issues, planning and prioritizing exam scheduling and processing that support the needs of the patients and physicians, actively participating in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives, assisting manager in holding self and team accountable for producing quality images, detailed documentation, and charge management through the Quality Control Program, orienting and precepts staff, maintaining compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other related functions include following established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation, maintaining cleanliness of work area and equipment, maintaining well stocked and organized work areas, and may be required to work at any facility.

Qualifications: Education/Training: Associate degree in applied science and graduate of an accredited school of sonography. Must meet the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) guidelines. Licensure/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). AND Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate. For Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography Must maintain ARDMS physics registry and ARDMS OBGYN registry. Prefer Sonographer also have the following three (3) NTQR certifications: Cervical Length Education and Review (CLEAR), Nuchal Translucency, Nasal Bone OR For Pediatric Congenital Sonography - Must maintain registries that apply to the Pediatric Congenital Sonography position. Experience: Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography with knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as amniocentesis, Chorionic Villus Sampling, Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric cardiac sonography. OR Experience in Pediatric Congenital sonography with ability to perform routine, advanced, and fetal echocardiology exams including, but not limited to, 2-D and M-Mode Echocardiography exams, Color Flow and Spectral Doppler.
