Tool Room MachinistThe Toolroom Machinist I will work in a precision tooling environment programming, setting up, and operating multiple types of Toolroom Equipment to manufacture multiple forms of tooling components from CAD models.1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pmResponsibilitiesTool Room Machinist Essential Job FunctionsManufacture fixturing and tooling from engineering drawings with minimal assistanceBuild reliable tooling components on timePerform maintenance on Toolroom equipmentEnsure revision levels of paperwork and tooling components are currentDesign specialty fixturing for Toolroom processes with assistanceTroubleshoot using numbers based scientific approach, and determine best solutionsDocument maintenance and build activities in required databasesSurface grind to required tolerancesWork closely with others to ensure best practices are used during the build of all tooling componentsMonitor and assist in the refinement of all toolroom processesIdentify fixturing, gaging, and tooling needs for toolroom effectivenessDevelop CAM programs from CAD generated modelsSet up and operate CNC and Manual Toolroom Equipment to produce high quality precise tooling components and other piece partsSetup and operate toolroom measurement equipmentAdhere to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when requiredAccurately records and reports hours workedSupport and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirementsRead, understand, and follow work instructions and standard workPartner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and financeUnderstand customer needs and the core business markets we serveEnsure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properlyParticipate in required company meetingsMaintain an organized work area (5S)Participate in the Operational Excellence ProgramComplete all other work duties as assignedAbility to work in a manufacturing environmentQualificationsTool Room Machinist Position Requirements:Technical Degree or equivalent experience1 year of machining precision componentsCapable of performing work activities driven from work orders, project plans, and maintenance procedures, and training documentsStrong interpersonal skillsGood troubleshooting skillsCritical thinking and writingGood ability to conceptualize complex geometry and assembliesGood ability to troubleshoot the machining processBasic theory of cutting tools and machining processStrong math skills, including trigonometryGood ability to identify different materials and their relationship to design (form, fit, and function)Advanced theory of cutting tools and machining practices required to manufacture tooling componentsAdvanced ability to troubleshoot by reading surface finishExcellent open layout measurement skillsAbility to read, comprehend, follow and document work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documentsMechanical AptitudeDexterity and hand and eye coordinationAbility to use a microscopeAbility to read and comprehend Drawings and GD&TMicrosoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)Clear and effective verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detailOrganizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced team environmentAbility to prioritize and multitaskToolroom Machinist Desirable Criteria & QualificationsProficient in Mastercam, Esprit, SolidWorksMedical Device manufacturingProficient in learning/understanding multiple NC machine interfaces (Fanuc, Agie, Charmilles, Accurite, etc.)Pay Range DetailsThis pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures.
