Registered Nurse - Telemetry / ICU / PCU

Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

This position involves providing nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit, which includes both step-down ICU and telemetry monitoring. The unit comprises 15 beds, including 3 dedicated to step-down ICU and 12 for telemetry patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio will be 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU.

Shift Information

Scheduled 36 hours per week following the initial week of orientation. No guarantee of hours. Holiday coverage is required.

General Responsibilities

Deliver primary nursing care to patients. Monitor telemetry and interpret telemetry strips. Perform fingerstick blood sugar tests.

Equipment Utilized

Meditech charting system Pyxis for medication management BIPAP machines Continuous cardiac monitoring systems

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting within the last year. Progressive Care and telemetry experience are preferred.

Licensure and Certifications

Current ACLS certification is required. BLS/BCLS certification is required. PALS and NIHSS certifications are preferred.

Floating Requirements

The nurse may be required to float to other acute care units, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatric, ICU, and ER, as needed.

Dress Code

Scrubs are the required attire for this position.
