Senior Litigation & Compliance Paralegal

Position is on-site at the customer location. Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal, DOJ administrator or a Project Supervisor. Supports a fast-moving litigation environment supporting multiple cases in discovery which includes handling of evidence and chain of custody requirements. Supports pre-indictment activities including database searches, reporting status to case team. Must have experience supporting data management within Relativity work-spaces (multiple cases). In addition to functions performed by Paralegals, described below, performs moderately complex legal research; reviews case related materials and, for example, identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; writes preliminary drafts of simple legal memoranda and correspondence. Contact mostly with other Contractor staff, but occasional contact with trial staff may be required. Qualifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location. Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one (1) year of study, or an equivalent level five (5) four (4) years of legal training or experience ; Additionally at least two (2) years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required. Strong Discovery management skills are required--supporting data management in Relativity, evidence tracking and general discovery status reporting are required. At least one year of experience in automated litigation support. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important. Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits: This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act.
