Receptionist - Night-Shift - Part-time

Warren Barr Gold Coast is a premier skilled nursing facility located in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, operating 24/7 throughout the year.

Role Overview
As a PRN Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for all visitors and guests, ensuring efficient operation and exceptional customer service for residents and staff.

Essential Functions

Operate a multiline telephone and paging system.

Answer and route incoming calls to the appropriate person.

Locate personnel using the overhead paging system.

Greet and direct all visitors, ensuring sign‑in and denial of entry when necessary.

Report suspicious behavior to the on‑duty supervisor.

Respond to inquiries about job openings and distribute applications to prospective employees.

Receive, sort, and forward incoming mail and coordinate express mail services.

Report guest concerns to the appropriate department head.

Maintain a list of all guests, staff extensions, and key personnel.

Handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.

Keep the lobby and workstation clean and free of hazards.

Report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the supervisor.

Communicate effectively and tactfully with guests, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in‑services as directed.

Respond to special requests made by guests and family members.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
The role is performed in a healthcare setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Occasional contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses may occur.

Physical Demands
The position is largely sedentary. Occasional lifting, opening filing cabinets, bending, or standing may be required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a PRN (per‑rogress‑needs) position with rotating shifts, holidays, and work during inclement weather as required by a 24/7 facility.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

One year of experience in a customer‑service role.

Other Duties
Additional duties may be assigned at any time in accordance with the needs of the facility.
