Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgery - Day Shift

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse on the 3North Med-Surg unit provides skilled nursing care to patients in a 14-bed medical-surgical setting. The nurse is responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care. The role requires flexibility to float to other med-surg units as needed and involves working a fair share of holidays and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to patients on a 14-bed medical-surgical unit.

Perform patient assessments and administer medications.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information.

Float to other medical-surgical units as required to meet staffing needs.

Work a fair share of holidays and weekend shifts to ensure unit coverage.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital or medical-surgical nursing.

Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration.

Prior experience working in medical-surgical units.

Special Considerations:

Must be willing to float to other medical-surgical units as needed.

Required to work a fair share of holidays.

Must complete 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period.

Scheduling:

• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Work schedule includes weekend shifts and holiday coverage.
