Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) PRN Weekend Night Shift

The role of a Group Respite Nurse is to provide nursing cares to a small group of children during your shift in collaboration with direct care professionals. Group services supports children with varying needs and abilities over the weekend. ChildServe's Respite service allows parents to attend events for their other children, schedule appointments for themselves, or take time to recharge.

PRN

Friday NOC: 11 p.m. - Saturday NOC: 7 p.m. - Must work a minimum of 1 weekend per month between the Johnston and Ames locations Ideal: 2 weekends per month (1 weekend at each location) Provide nursing support, rehabilitative needs, and preventative care in a ratio of 1:3 at the ChildServe Center Interact with the child and participate in fun activities. Possible skills used: medication administration, g-tube nutrition, seizure management, urinary cath, respiratory support, etc. Current valid RN/LPN license in Iowa Experience working with children with special health care needs preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing and speaking the English language. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand. We partner with families to help children with special healthcare needs live a great life. We serve 5,800 children each year through over 30 specialty pediatric services in the Ames, Des Moines, Iowa City, and Cedar Rapids areas.
