The Custom Government team operates across the full breadth and depth of Akamai's technology stack to design, build, and deliver customized solutions for Public Sector customers. This role partners closely with Operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams in a highly collaborative environment to deploy, operate, and continuously improve secure, resilient, and high-performance Application Delivery Networks.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will manage the Akamai cloud storage solution, NetStorage, within the public sector and work closely with various groups to support and improve our existing product offerings. As a Software Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:

Acting as a lead in design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of the NetStorage ecosystem.

Working with other internal development teams to solve platform problems.

Maintaining, enhancing, and developing tools and testing frameworks.

Have 5 years of related experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Have experience with CouchDB, understanding of NoSQL database design, and ability to manage data synchronization.

Have experience in system administration and software development.

Have experience in one or more scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.) and hands‑on experience working in Linux/Unix.

Have familiarity with cloud storage concepts and data management replication concepts.
