The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembly, install, and repair of sheet metal products and equipment. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; You will be welding in very tight confined spaces, i.e.: inside a small tank.
Set up and operation of hydraulic press brake; forming various sheet metal and plate parts
Set up and operation of plate rolls; material size ranges from 20 gauge to 1/4" plate.
Set up and operation of sheet metal shear. Must be able to calculate best cut to minimize scrap.

Must understand or be willing to learn the forming process of various sheet metal parts such as pressed elbows, gorelocked elbows, collars, sleeves, tee branches, reducers, etc.

Reads assembly prints and procedures
High school diploma or GED required; 5+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication

• Good mechanical skills.
• Basic math skills and the ability to read assembly prints and procedures.
• Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel. The facility is not air conditioned.
