With four operating rooms, 34 inpatient care rooms and a helipad, we are making access to high-quality care closer to home easier than ever for our Lake County patients. Caregivers at Mentor Hospital's Med/Surg Unit provide care to adult patients with a variety of medical issues or patients preparing for or recovering from surgery. Med/surg caregivers care for a broad spectrum of patients, giving them a vast and broad clinical skillset. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
Will consider military RN experience
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
