Respiratory TherapistOrlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute offers comprehensive CARF-accredited inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs for adults, adolescents and children, with specialty programs in stroke, spinal cord and brain injury rehabilitation. A dedicated 54-bed rehabilitation hospital provides post-acute care for patients requiring medical and intensive rehabilitative therapies covering a full range of orthopedic and neurological conditions. The facility has all-private rooms, three therapy gyms outfitted with the latest technology, a simulated apartment, and an expansive outdoor space for additional therapeutic activity. Outpatient centers feature interdisciplinary teams working together to help each patient meet their individual rehabilitation goals and achieve the highest possible level of independence.A Day in YOUR Life as a Respiratory TherapistThe Respiratory Therapist assesses, treats, and cares for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role performs therapeutic procedures, operates and maintains respiratory equipment, and documents patient care while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team.Location: Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation InstituteSchedule: 3 shifts per week | 12-hour night shiftsResponsibilitiesDemonstrates competency in respiratory therapeutics, including non-invasive ventilators, pulmonary diagnostics, and other respiratory equipmentMaintains accurate, timely, and complete patient documentationCommunicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team membersPerforms quality control, maintenance, and operation of arterial blood gas analyzersCollects and analyzes blood specimens for gas transport and acid-base determinationMaintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulationsMaintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and proceduresRequired QualificationsEducation/Training: Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences (Certificate accepted if licensed prior to December 31, 1987)Eligibility to sit for the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) exam per NBRC guidelinesBasic computer and mechanical aptitude requiredLicensure/Certification: Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license issued by the Florida Department of HealthActive status with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), as applicableCurrent BLS / Healthcare Provider certificationExperience: No prior experience required — new graduates are encouraged to applyBenefits Beyond the ExpectedOrlando Health is committed to providing you with benefits that go beyond the expected, with career-growing FREE education programs and well-being services to support you and your family through every stage of life.
