ER- Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)- Evenings

Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.

This role is a 0.75 FTE, 60 hours per pay period, evening shift position working (1100-11:30pm), 12 hour shifts and every third weekend rotation. About this Unit

Do you have a special curiosity about the Emergency Department? UMMC East Bank Emergency Department is a 28 bed Level 3 Trauma Center. We deliver care to about 80 patients per day and 30,000 patients annually. We offer a multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies. Team members include Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Transport, and Case Managers. We provide prompt, quality care around the clock, when patients are faced with medical or behavioral emergencies.

The registered nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible and accountable for patient assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention application, and the identification and evaluation of outcomes for patients of all ages and populations.

The scope of practice extends from a patient’s entry into the emergency room and continues from triage through discharge. Care is centered on patients and families experiencing acute or chronic, actual or potential physical or psychosocial problems. Unique to emergency nursing are processes that require resuscitation and/or stabilization

Triaging patients effectively according to policies, laws, and resources.

Using the nursing process to deliver care for any patients addressing the department. An individualized plan of care is developed in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team to support the physical and emotional needs of a wide range of ill/ injured patients.

Prioritizing the care of multiple patients with varied presentations.

Initiating timely interventions to prevent, correct, or minimize risks to the patient.

Current MN RN license

• 1 year of RN Emergency Department, med/surg, or telemetry nursing experience
• BLS for Health Care Providers
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) and TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) will be required of all staff within the first year of employment.

1 year of Emergency Department or critical care experience
