Weekend Shift Line Cooks

The Little Lark is looking to expand our team and seeking a strong Line Cook. Candidates must have relevant Line Cook or Pizza experience within the hospitality industry. Pizza making and wood fired oven experience a plus! The position is paid hourly and can expect to be scheduled up to 24 hours per week on average, with the opportunity to pick up more hours with on-site events and when the Spring/Summer patio season begins in 2027.
The Little Lark is a specialty pizza concept on the vibrant Guild Row campus in Avondale. We serve neo-Neapolitan-style pizza with blistered, airy-yet-crisp crusts, topped with seasonal ingredients and Italian classics. Our pizza feature toppings from Lardon's signature house-cured salumi, staying true to Meadowlark Hospitality's ingredient-driven ethos. Expect light and crushable Meadowlark-inspired cocktails and a thoughtful by-the-glass wine list focused on natural, easy-drinking selections ideal for warm weather. Guild Row is an innovative co-working and social space has become a hub for community and creativity in Avondale. The Little Lark was created as both a continuation of Guild Row's community-focused mission and a new culinary destination for Chicago.

At least 2 years of kitchen experience / line cook experience
Bonus if you have experience making Neapolitan/Artisanal style pizzas or work with wood fired oven
Work a busy service smoothly
Exceptional eye for detail
Familiarity in using a wood fired oven
Highly organized, detail oriented and punctual
Great attitude, respectful and a team player
Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours and lift at least 50 pounds
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Preparation of food for guests
Communication and establishment of pars
Knowledge of all culinary functions in the kitchen
Trouble-shooting any problems that may arise
Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
Station maintenance and cleanliness
Maintain a positive, pleasant, attitude every shift
Available to work various shifts throughout the week, weekends and holidays. Ability to walk and stand during entire shift. Ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and cut. Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time. Frequent washing of hands. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cutting, burning, slipping, tripping

Culinary degree and/or 2 yrs experience
Culinary knowledge and skills
Organizational skills and multi-task oriented
Compensation: Hourly ($19.00 - $22.00)
