EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Current Apprentice Plumber License issued by the Baltimore Board of Commissioners of Practical Plumbing.
• Four (4) years of progressive plumbing experience, including at least one (1) year as a Maintenance Plumber I or equivalent.

Knowledge of commercial building mechanical and plumbing systems.

• Working knowledge of Charles County Plumbing Code and regulations.
• Valid Maryland Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to undergo additional training as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime during emergencies.

Install, maintain, and repair plumbing and heating systems.

• Service, maintain, and rebuild pump systems, lift stations, and fire sprinkler systems.
• Installs water service piping and tap water/sewer mains.
• Cut, bend, and thread pipes; install hot and cold water, oil, steam, or gas pipes.
• Repairs heating system pipes and valve traps.
• Operates commercial service vehicles (trucks and vans) and tow equipment trailers.
• Communicates effectively with staff verbally and in writing.

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: such as furniture or equipment. The employee regularly works indoors and will occasionally work outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment. The employee may work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, sprays, cleaners, fertilizers, seed, and non-household dust.
