Phlebotomist III

Our client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Phlebotomist III for their Birmingham, AL location. Responsibilities include experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.

Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen. Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Requirements include a minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with EPIC. High School Diploma or GED 5-7 years of experience. Phlebotomist at least 4+ years of drawing experience. How many draws are required daily 30-50. What is the work environment (Patient service center, doctor's office) IOP. Hospital experience. Health benefits, referral program, excellent growth and advancement opportunities.
