Location: Royal Oak, MI

Pay Rate: $28.66 - $32.88 per hour

Employment Type: Contingent with potential pathway for hire

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, with rotational weekends

Accurate laboratory testing is essential to quality patient care. In this role, you will perform high-complexity testing, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and provide timely, reliable results that support clinical decision-making.

What You'll Do

Perform laboratory testing and specimen analysis using approved procedures and department SOPs

Review, verify, and release patient test results accurately and efficiently

Follow specimen handling, processing, documentation, and record-keeping procedures

Maintain quality control, calibration, maintenance, and proficiency testing records

Troubleshoot testing issues and document corrective actions when necessary

Report STAT and critical results according to established department procedures

Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements

Maintain inventory integrity by monitoring reagent and test kit dates and usability

Participate in department meetings, ongoing training, inspections, and educational activities

Collaborate with laboratory staff, clients, and other departments to support testing operations

What We're Looking For

A current, up-to-date resume

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred, or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associate degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, or previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433

ASCP MLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred; high-complexity testing experience required for candidates with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology

Strong understanding of laboratory testing, quality control (QC), and quality assurance (QA)

Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to work across multiple platforms

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple procedures simultaneously

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work effectively with other departments

Ability to meet compliance requirements, including Corewell credentialing requirements

Must be eligible and provide proof of eligibility to work in the US
