The Medical Laboratory Assistant Performs data entry, basic computer operations, specimen collection, processing, and basic laboratory procedures. The Medical Laboratory Assistant continuously works towards providing quality service improvement and optimum support to the department and team members in achieving North Memorial- Maple Grove Hospital's goals. Previous hospital phlebotomy experience preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Completion of an accredited program for Medical Laboratory Assistants or Medical Assistants.
Minimum of one-year current laboratory experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
Completion of a course in medical terminology and at least two semesters of college level biology and/or chemistry.

• Superior ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects, adjust to changing workflow and workload accordingly.
• Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.

Assists in the orientation and training of new team members and students as directed by Laboratory Manager or Lab Lead.
Participates in all required in-service training, laboratory meetings and other additional assigned training.

Shift Differential: Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.
