Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting under established nursing standards and protocols
Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered, documenting accurately in the electronic medical record
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge planning
Maintain compliance with all facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or Intermediate Care (IMC) setting
Current BLS certification required; ACLS may be required
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills appropriate for intermediate-acuity patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior travel nursing experience in a Stepdown or PCU environment
Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
Experience in a high-volume regional referral or trauma center setting
