Head of Project Management (Construction)

Manages and coordinates the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Oversees a team of project professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure project goals are met. Supervises the creation, review, and maintenance of documentation, including design review, commissioning, and problem-solving papers. Manages the implementation and oversight of quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards. Supervises regular site walks and oversees the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects. Addresses gaps in risk identification and mitigation, and communicates potential impacts to the business. Manages the primary point of contact role between the company and colocation providers. Supervises the selection, negotiation, and management of contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and performance and construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications. Supervises the installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems.

Construction Project Management-Project Planning and Execution:

• Manages and coordinates the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Develops and maintains project schedules, collaborating closely with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
• Creates and manages project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective project delivery.
• Oversees a team of project professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure project goals are met.
• Supervises the creation, review, and maintenance of documentation, including design review, commissioning, and problem-solving papers, ensuring team adherence to standards, effective management of documents, and suitability of all materials for their intended purpose.

Construction Project Management-Project Integration and Quality Assurance:

• Manages the implementation and oversight of quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
• Manages the coordination and integration of tenant fit out projects, handling daily interactions during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Supervises regular site walks, ensuring schedule adherence, coordination, and quality throughout the project.
• Oversees the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects, ensuring all systems are operational and meet design specifications.

Risk and Problem Management:

• Manages the evaluation of risk profiles associated with timely project delivery.
• Addresses gaps in risk identification and mitigation and communicates potential impacts to the business.
• Develops and manages the implementation of mitigation strategies for major construction project risks to ensure project success.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management:

• Manages the primary point of contact role between the company and colocation providers, ensuring clear and effective communication and team alignment.
• Supervises the selection, negotiation, and management of contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and performance, and supporting the resolution of contract issues.

Manages collaboration with design teams to ensure that construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications, ensuring team alignment.

-Supervises the installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards and supporting the resolution of installation issues.

Planning & Execution:

• Creates and owns the execution plan for the team's work and multiple projects or initiatives, monitoring timelines and budgets when applicable to ensure projects are completed on time and in adherence with requirements. Delegates work across the team and helps them prioritize their work. Collaboration & Partnership:
• Strengthens collaborative partnerships across teams to align on expectations and shared objectives. Guides team members to build relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and/or customers to ensure effective collaboration. Directs team to analyze data and/or information from multiple sources to troubleshoot moderately complex errors.

Uses feedback and training to elevate personal and team skills, modeling a commitment to learning. Performance and Development:

-Coaches and provides direction to team members in alignment with performance management processes, guidelines, and expectations. Identifies development opportunities to help team member's improve performance. Contributes to the talent acquisition pipeline by leading candidate interviews, assessing promotion eligibility, and managing talent resources.

S. customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization/occupational health mandates, and/or drug testing requirements.
